STEVENS POINT-The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point hosted the Pacific Boxers of Oregon on Sept. 19 in the third week of the football season.
The Pointers went up 7-0 in the early seconds of the game as Anthony Lefebre took the opening kickoff 95 yards to the house to give his team an early edge.
In the second quarter, the Pointers went on a nine-play, 45-yard touchdown drive to take a 14-0 lead as Lucas Milz punched in a two-yard touchdown run.
To end the second quarter, Stevens Point went up 21-0 after a 16-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that resulted in a one-yard touchdown run by Zack Lynch.
In the third quarter, a 13-play, 60-yard drive was capped by a five-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Thompson to Ben Wollersheim to make the score 28-0.
A fumble recovery by Lorenzen Horace set up the Pointers on the Pacific 20-yard line, and Thompson completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Austin Phillips to make the score 35-0.
Pacific got on the scoreboard in the third quarter, as Carson Mullins scored on a 66-yard touchdown run to make the deficit 35-6.
In the fourth quarter, the Pointhers went on a 14-play, 60-yard drive that was capped by a nine-yard run for a touchdown that made it a 42-6 lead.
A 16-play, 88-yard drive was finished off by a 10-yard touchdown run by Brady Zemple, making the lead 48-6.
Pacific scored a late touchdown on a 34-yard pass as they brought the score to 48-13, and the Pointers put their record at 2-1 on the season.
