Byron “Bill” Johnson

Byron “Bill” Johnson passed away surrounded by his family. He and his wife, Ruth, were married for 74 years and raised three children: Lorie, Gary, and William. Bill earned advanced degrees in Agronomy from the University of Wisconsin and worked in both academia and industry before founding his own environmental consulting business. He was a devoted Christian and served faithfully at First Assembly of God in Waupaca for over 35 years, participating in men’s ministries, Bible studies, and community outreach. Bill was known for his warm smile as a church greeter, his love of flying, his fishing trips to Canada, and his passion for gardening. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children; grandchildren; great‐grandchildren; and one great‐great‐grandchild.

The Funeral Service will be on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 11 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 1420 Berlin St. Waupaca.  The visitation will be on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.  The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
