Of Waupaca, age 84, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born in Bevent, WI on September 1, 1941 to the late Ben and Althea (Marquardt) Zywicki. She married Benny Batten on October 14, 1972. Jeanette owned Benny’s Wild Rose Market with her husband. She enjoyed going to church and was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. She was a good bowler and bowled a couple of times a week. Jeanette also enjoyed quilting and trips to the casino with her friends.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Marie Thompson, David (Dawn) Riley, Loretta (Rudy) McKinney, Dan (Bev Parker) Riley, Tom (Jane) Riley, Dean “Pat” (Cindy Reed) Riley, Tim Batten; sister: Lynette Woyak; grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benny, daughters, Doris Riley and Louise Niemuth, brother, Harold Zywicki and sisters, Judith Kitowski and Delphine Shulfer.
The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2845 Shadow Road, Waupaca. The visitation will be on Wednesday at the Maple Crest Funeral Home from 4 until 7 p.m. and again on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
