STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Area Public School District recently recognized Computer Systems Analyst Jesse Suehs as a recipient of the Mandana Bliss Award, honoring his commitment to supporting students, staff and families throughout the District.

For more than 20 years, Suehs has worked largely behind the scenes to keep the technology systems relied upon by approximately 7,000 students, 1,400 staff members and thousands of families running safely, securely and reliably.

“Jesse’s work often goes unnoticed outside of our department because when things go smoothly, everyone simply has a normal day; logging in, using their Chromebooks and computers, and focusing on teaching and learning,” said Brian Casey, Director of Technology. “That reliability is a reflection of Jesse’s expertise, persistence and commitment to our District.”

Suehs began his career with the District as an intern more than two decades ago, helping staff learn to use computers and Microsoft applications. He has since advanced to the role of Computer Systems Analyst and has played a critical role in modernizing the District’s technology infrastructure.

Over the past decade, Suehs has helped lead major technology improvements, including the implementation of Google tools across the District, strengthened cybersecurity practices and the migration of systems to cloud-based environments.

His colleagues know him not only for his extensive technical knowledge, but also for his determination to solve difficult problems. Whether responding to a cybersecurity issue after hours or working for months with companies such as Google, Microsoft and other technology vendors to resolve a challenging support issue, Suehs is known for staying with a problem until a solution is found.

“He is reliable, dependable and trustworthy,” Casey said. “He will always do his utmost to help a teacher, parent, student or staff member.”

Suehs is also recognized by his colleagues for his humility and team-first approach. He is quick to share credit with others and takes pride in helping ensure technology supports, rather than interrupts, the work happening in classrooms and schools.
