Posted

PORTAGE COUNTY — The Portage County Parks Department announced that the disc golf courses at Standing Rocks Park will host the Great Glacial Washout V tournament during the final weekend in Sept. The tournament will feature both pro and amateur disc golfers and will also include competition at the Yulga course in Stevens Point. Spectators are welcome and vendors will be on-site with disc golf merchandise and equipment.

The first round will tee off at 9 a.m. on Sept. 26 at both Yulga and Standing Rocks. The tournament concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m. with awards and raffle drawing at Standing Rocks Park. Online Registration is open now through Sept. 24 with rates ranging from $60 to $90.

The courses at Standing Rocks were initially designed by Randy Schukar in 1999. Known for its rolling hills and peaceful natural beauty, it is considered a challenging but rewarding course that truly tests the accuracy of its disc golfers. Standing Rocks has been voted Wisconsin’s third finest disc golf venue and rates in the top 50 worldwide by UDisc. It is host to some of Wisconsin’s largest and most prestigious disc golf competitions in the Midwest.
